ABOUT
Lynwood is a two double bedroom self-catering cottage, situated in Stenness, the heart of Neolithic Orkney. It is within walking distance to the Standing Stones of Stenness, the Ring of Brodgar, the Ness of Brodgar and Maeshowe . The cottage is only 5 miles from Stromness and 10 miles from Kirkwall, the Capital of Orkney. The cottage has air-source central heating, has a private driveway and enclosed garden with spectacular views over the Harray and Stenness lochs.
Lynwood is a fantastic location to enjoy a peaceful, relaxing holiday, it is located on the main Stromness to Kirkwall road, A965, with public transport passing at regular intervals. The local shop, Ice cream parlour and Standing Stones hotel are within a 5 minute walk, the hotel serving food all day.
Suitable for fishing, walking, cycling, archeological and bird watching holidays, with outside storage facility available. Unfortunately Lynwood is a no pets and a smoke free accommodation facility.
BOOKING INFORMATION
Bookings are usually taken from Saturday to Saturday but there may be flexibility during off peak season. A £150 non refundable deposit is required on booking, with the balance required six weeks prior to the booked arrival date.

Getting to Orkney
Northlink Ferries provides the Island with two ferry services, one from Shetland or Aberdeen which docks in Kirkwall (15 miles away) and one from Scrabster which docks in Stromness (5 miles away). Pentland Ferries have a catamaran which runs between St Margaret's Hope and Gills Bay. The local airport is 20 miles away. Local buses have a regular service to and from these facilities, with a bus stop a 2 minute walk away from the cottage.
Cultural Sites
Lynwood is situated in the heart of Neolithic Orkney, with the Standing Stones of Stenness ,the Ring of Brodgar , the Ness of Brodgar and Maeshowe a 10 minute walk away. Skara Brae and Skaill House are a situated in Sandwick which is a 10 minute drive away.
Visitors passes are available for a range of sites on Orkney.
Leisure Activities
There are two swimming pools on the mainland, one in Stromness, and one in Kirkwall. The Pickaquoy Centre has a range of activities to suit all ages.
Stromness and Kirkwall both have their own golf courses.
Fishing
Lynwood looks over the Stenness and Harray lochs, with a range of competitions running over the season.
